Pink at Last Story: Our house is set on a hill and a few times a week the most beautiful sunsets fill the sky with hues of cotton candy sorbet. Pink at Last represents those moments of awe that live forever in your memory. Beauty cannot hold still, and the sunsets come and go, but their inspiration lasts forever.

Broken Vessels Inspiration: The moon is not a source of light. It is a vessel of the sun’s light. In the same way, we are also vessels and have control of what we reflect onto one another. Are we vessels of goodness and compassion, of love and light?

The gold designs of these paintings are inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, a process whereby artists put broken ceramics back together with gold fill. The practice is built on the idea that embracing flaws and imperfections leads to a stronger and more beautiful piece. The gold fill tells a story of the piece’s valuable history, and the same also happens with our heart. Through healing and forgiveness, we can acknowledge our brokenness and accept the renewed version of ourselves. Our past brokenness is part of our present and future story.

The vessels, although once broken, are now whole and each tell a story of revival while they reflect the sun’s light. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your goodness and glorify your Father in heaven.” —Matthew 5:16 (edited)
