Recess

RECESS is a collection of new mixed media works, exploring the intersection of play, process, material, and meaning through techniques including painting, cyanotype, sewing, and drawing.

Developed during a season of new motherhood and transition, RECESS reflects an intentional return to creative practice as a space for renewal and reflection. Inspired by creating work in nature and with others, the work honors the restorative power of community and the value of making as a form of rest.

Through tactile experimentation and open process, the artists invite viewers to consider play not as escape, but as a means of rediscovering joy, presence, and purpose within life’s evolving rhythms—a recess.
