8.5x12 cyanotype and watercolor on 140lb watercolor paper. Shipped in a flat envelope, frame not included.
Em uses natural elements to develop cyanotypes and then paints with watercolors, so that nature is not only the subject of a piece, but also plays an integral role in the creation of it. Each piece is dyed in the sun under unique UV rays, then patiently, prayerfully and mindfully painted to create the final artwork.
Living Water is a revelation of the divine nature of water, and the symbolism between the Living God and our human nature.
One evening three years ago, the lyrics from Maverick City Music's "Isaiah's Song" poured over me and ignited visions of aerial views of water. The words go like "Sing sing oh barren land, water is coming to the thirsty, though you are empty, I am the well, draw from me, I will provide." I saw the deep waters, the golden threads of light dance over the waves, and felt a calming assurance that water is coming to the thirsty. This body of work is a promise of hope that despite the present darkness and depth of the unknown, our God is present with us, and reveals himself in the shimmering beauty of nature, human relationships and his Holy Spirit.
