5x7 cyanotype, watercolor and pencil on 140lb watercolor paper. Artist signature on front. Framed in a 11x14 composite frame, with an archival textured matte board. This piece was dyed in the sun, bathed in water, painted on, drawn on, and carefully sealed with wax.
This piece has literally lived countless lives, I’ve dyed, painted, rinsed, repainted and repeated these steps many times. Where I started vs where I ended were completely different, and yet this process is what gives this piece it’s depth. You can see the paint washed away, and the coffee toned paper. In the foreground you see the threads come together as if they’re doing a dance. Each thread represents people, they come together for a moment or years, and together, they create something that was not before.
